.
Andwell is one of the smallest hamlets in Hampshire. In 1130 Adam de Port
founded Andwell Priory, a dependency of the Benedictine Abbey of Tiron in
Normandy. Even then there was a mill operating which closed down just
after the First World War. The river Lyde supported watercress beds and a
trout farm just as it does today, although our trout farm is now down
stream of the old mill.

Andwell
was early in the development of the smoked trout fillet when it was
realised that people didn’t want all the fuss of bones and skin.
Two major investments in the last 10 years have taken place. Over £1million has
been spent on refurbishment of the premises and renewing the trout farms.
We
believe the right people and facilities are equally important for the
company's continued development, and it was with this in mind that we
achieved both the Investor in People Award and BRC Higher Level Accreditation.
